"Lucky Break"

A mastery of Hip-Hop dance skills come together on the theatre stage, to tell the story of a man's venture to find his place in society.

It's about the lead character 'Lucky': boy turns into man via the struggles of long-term unemployment and the tests of character you must pass, to overcome just another one of life's hurdles.

Set in the suburbs of Melbourne, based on an article titled 'State feeling the sting of job losses', artistic director L. MJ Garduce and her talented cast explores the issues of the effects of the past economic crisis, unemployment and homelessness. The show brings light to what we as the viewers might feel, and how we respond and stereotype those who have nothing but the street at their feet.

Prepare to be lifted! See and FEEL Hip-Hop at its best storytelling on stage!

If you think you can dance - this is where you go - if you can't dance to save your poor ass that's okay too. Feed your soul and your ears and get some house into ya! I went to the last one and God knows how invigorated I felt on the drive home afterwards! Props to the Melbourne House Dancers for keeping up the house vibes in our underground scene. L. MJ Garduce

Go the red and white stripes - they'll never fail you. And they certainly never fail to hit that spot - no need to give me a menu.. Jack Daniel's Burgers please! (It's what I order ALL THE TIME) Char-grilled, crispy bacon, JD sauce, juicy juicy burgers phaaaarrrrr... I need a fix L. MJ Garduce

I Thought I was Cool

May 8th 2011

Just when you think you've seen enough cool dance videos for the day - this clip smacks me in the face and I can't hit the stop button. Now it's your turn. Go on - get inspired! These kids from Paris know how to get everyone's attention fo' shiz. I think they even got the camera crew from the Jason Bourne movies. Dunno if I could really classify some of that eye candy as dancing - more so exhibition performance - even so I'm still jealous and it's still cool. F yeah. L. MJ Garduce
